If I remember correctly, this quilt was finished before the end of January or first week in February. Immediately after this quilt was finished, I started daydreaming about creating a quilt for show. Yeah, like I knew exactly how to go about it!
What happened next you already know from the Hummingbird quilt story, because the next quilt was my Hummingbird.
The quilting of my Hummingbird was complete on March 16th 2005. I will remember that date forever! The Hummingbird quilt won 17 awards over few years, as it was exhibited in many national and international shows. This quilt raked up many special awards and always returned with at least one ribbon from every show, including AQS in Nashville and IQF in Houston, PIQF, Road to California, MQS, HMQS to mention just a few. The only show where this quilt did not ribbon was MQX 2005. 16 hits out of 17 tries was a pretty good winning ratio for me!
